David W. Underwood, M.D

Dr. David Underwood, board certified in ophthalmology, earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, College of Medicine, where he also completed his residency in ophthalmology. His professional memberships include the Academy of Ophthalmology, American Medical Association and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr.Underwood was the first to use the excimer laser for vision correction in WestTennessee. He has remained a trendsetter in refractive surgery by performing the first PRK, PTK, LASIK and Z-LASIK in West Tennessee.
